Helmet Fitting

Recent tests undertaken reveal that full-face helmets, which are ill fitting, or where the lining has loosened over time, may give rise to 'wind rush' through the gaps in the helmet at speed.  This may give the impression of interference from the intercom system.  This applies to any intercom - not just Neptune.

A correct fitting helmet is also essential for safety reasons.  One very good way of testing the fitting of your helmet is to put on the helmet and fasten in the normal way.  Have someone grasp the helmet on either side and attempt to move it from side to side.  They should also tap the top of the helmet to ascertain whether there is a gap between the top of the head and the helmet lining.  If there is any 'give' at the sides or top, the helmet is either too large, or the lining has compacted.  Likewise, if there is space for fingers to be inserted between the helmet and the cheeks.

Radio Case Panels

If the polycarbonate control panels on our heavy duty cases need to be cleaned, we recommend the use of soapy water, followed by a rinse with clear water.  Aerosol sprays should not be used as, in certain circumstances, cracking may occur.

Radio Case Seals

As rubber 'O' ring seals compact over time, we recommend that the seals on our heavy duty cases be replaced annually for optimum performance.  Available from our Spares Department Sales@dsdevelopments.co.uk
